SOCCER.COM/Nike Scorpion Tournament (April - June 2002)
Primary Goals: Build brand awareness for Nike. Increase traffic to the Nike product section on Soccer.com prior to the 2002 World Cup.
Secondary Goals: Return visits from curious soccer fans that want to see the Scorpion tournament progress.
Project Details: The Scorpion Tournament was an award winning ad campaign produced by Wieden+Kennedy for Nike in the Spring/Summer 2002. The campaign featured former soccer star Eric Cantona and some of the top Nike athletes in a single elimination cage match style competition. The primary campaign was shown on NikeSoccer.com, but I had to create a mini takedown of the footage for Soccer.com. We were given very little creative from Nike aside from the videos, so I had to design most of the graphics for Soccer.com from the low-resolution video stills to closely match the style established by Weiden+Kennedy.
